Congratulations, if you are an engineering student in any field – you have already proved that you are ambitious! Yet, you will also need perseverance to perform practice at TEC. Dare to test yourself?

Live experiences speak better than a thousand words. Mantas Biknius, an alumni of Kaunas University of Technology and the current sales manager of the TEC group of companies, graduated from his bachelor’s and, later, master’s studies at the Faculty of Mechanics, Engineering and Design of Kaunas University of Technology. M. Biknius started his career in a construction company of energy facilities as an assistant project manager.

In less than a year, he became a project manager, thus acquiring the opportunity to implement some of the largest energy projects in the Baltic region, and later brought his experience to TEC, where he started as a project manager.

“I chose my workplace having the purpose in mind – I was interested in international projects and innovations, and it was exactly what TEC was offering,” says Mantas.

 International experience.

Mantas Biknius says that the TEC group of companies collaborates with companies from Canada, South Korea, Denmark, the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Sweden, Finland, Spain, Italy and Turkey. “Together with companies from other countries, we develop new and innovative products (development of project management system and design algorithm system), which we later apply to our company’s business.” International experience not only in working with joint engineering projects, but also in the development of new products is a great opportunity for young specialists to implement their ideas and become international level innovators.

Practical knowledge of a wide range of projects.

“We have projects in the field of logistics, energy, transportation infrastructure, oil industry and other sectors,” says Mantas, alumni of Kaunas University of Technology. TEC not only provides services but also implements turnkey projects in a wide variety of sectors. “We start with the development of project proposals together with the customer, then organise the selection of contractors; we are responsible for design, project implementation, construction and further operation. Thus, the trainee can discover himself in any of the processes, because we combine them to the entire project, “says M. Biknius.

Latest technology.

The TEC Group’s strategy is to become one of the leading providers of engineering consulting services in Europe. Therefore, it always welcomes students who want to study and improve in the changing construction sector. In the engineering sector, new software packages are constantly being developed, with application of the latest technologies ranging from drones, 3D scanning, 4D and 5D BIM applications to virtual walkarounds on a site of the future project that has already been designed.

 Potential job.

Entering the job market immediately after graduate caps during diploma awards thrown into the sky, and often even earlier, everyone faces the grim reality – the university teachers the basic theoretical knowledge needed in the field, but at each workplace you need to deal with specific company principles and whereabouts, as well as collect the most valuable knowledge – practical. “The competencies acquired at the university turn into a ‘body’ with us – we help students to enable their knowledge and become competitive participants in the Labour market,” says M. Biknius. In order to reach career heights in the TEC group of companies, the application of new knowledge and continuous improvement is a daily routine.

“Students of Kaunas University of Technology who are motivated, responsible and focused on improvement, remain with us, become qualified specialists within the company and grow together with a team that is expanding both in Lithuania and on the international market,” says M. Biknius.
