The award-winning members of TEC Consulting are currently working on the renovation and retrofitting of the Vilnius CHP plant, an important project for Vilnius residents and visitors. This plant, together with the existing waste incinerator, should provide one fifth of the heat demand of Vilnius during the coldest periods and about 40 percent of the total heat demand of the capital during the year. It will be one of the most modern cogeneration plants of its kind in Europe.
A major milestone in the project has recently been officially launched – hot testing of the plant has started. The equipment is now being fine-tuned and preparations are underway for heat and power generation. The hot tests include all possible operating modes and testing of critical systems to make sure everything is working perfectly. Performance indicators are also monitored and recorded. The planned start of operation of the biofuel plant is the 2023-2024 heating season. This is a big step in reducing the share of fossil fuels in Vilnius and we are happy to be part of this positive change!
It is clear that energy workers play a vital role in improving the country’s economy and our quality of life, and the innovations we create every day are paving the way for a brighter and more sustainable energy future.
